I Hated the Rose Petals in Your Hair by Margot Block

bonfires burning between the two hills of decadence and lust
I came for you with every shocking admission
and nothing underneath the black cape
that you weaned underneath the summer moon
there was time for the boiling biology of a tainted seed
and yes the deformed child between my legs
as of last summer’s coat rack
we never said or discussed who was fit to bear children
in the sunlight
in the grove of trees
in womb or full bloom
that time has passed
while the sun is cruelly rising
and you are ugly beneath the florescent light
in London season you were different
cool and fashionable
I hated your lily white skin
as I hated the rose petals in your hair
you tried to pass for excellent
