At the Feeder by John Sheirer

Two birds met at the feeder, one yellow, one gray.
“Feeder’s getting low,” said yellow.
“Human needs to fill it,” said gray.
“You’d think he’d notice,” said yellow. “Stares at us through the window all day.”
“Get a life and keep this feeder full,” said gray.
Suddenly, a huge, dark squirrel shape leaped onto the feeder. Yellow and Gray scattered to neighboring branches.
“Hey!” yelled the human from the window. “Get offa there!”
The squirrel spasmed and flopped clumsily to the ground, scuttling away. Yellow and gray returned, pecking steadily.
“Good human,” said yellow.
“Better than I expected,” said gray
