Under White Fingers of the Moon by Jennifer Lagier

from a poem by Russell Salamon

Fog wraiths resurrect from shuddering ocean,

drift inland to surround
ascendant lunar pearl against ebony cosmos,
chase huntress Diana and her starry hounds
across celestial prairie.

Night-blooming honeysuckle
dangles creamy fingers from intertwined vines.
Ivory jasmine exudes erotic perfume.
As a snowy owl croons,
camouflaged crickets twitter.

Pale lovers nakedly embrace
within covert shadows
beneath swollen full moon.
