Haunting Hymn by Linda M. Crate

the dancing wind
ghost hands in my hair
untamed, wild
as i am;
there is a certain sense
of freedom in these pale golden hands
dancing within the magical wood—
the majestic crow greets me
all is good and beautiful
hauntingly silent,
but not in a way that wounds;
just a way that heals
for not every ghost song is wicked—
just as not every human lyric
is good.

Linda M. Crate's works have been published in numerous magazines and anthologies both online and in print. She is the author of five published chapbooks, a micro-chap, and the  forthcoming poetry collection entitled More Than Bone Music (Clare Songbirds Publishing House).
