Seeing Like Never Before
“What have you done with your eyes?” --- Antonio Machado
One day a thin veil lifted from my eyes.
Cherry blossom petals covered the world
in a blanket of pink whispers.
My skin felt a Presence like never before.
A swarm of crawling bees were laying honey
as bricks of dreams.
This is when poems rise out of well water, in mists.
My eyes were seeing things meant to be seen.
Now I can fall back into myself,
into a new body. One that dances.
One that has more colors than I know what to do with.
