4 Garden Haiku by Martin Willitts, Jr.

Impatiens wait
to fill the empty garden,
wait impatiently

Bees bring summer
to the creamy-peach flower
of the Almond bush

A circular wall
and rain make a moat,
drawbridge to a tree.

The radial structure
of the Allium, afterwards,
spikes, like frost bursts

  1. Great views and insight to one's personal space; my garden is my muse also. I admire the play of impatiens against impatiently; masterful! Best-
