3 Poems by Gabor Barabas

Once again, it took a dark night
to remind me, why I took
this road in the first place.

The snow falls gently,
The plum blossoms
blanket the earth.

What do you expect of life?
When even the lotus blossoms
for three days then withers.

Gabor Barabas' work was most recently published in California Quarterly, Iodine,  and Plainsongs. An animated film of his poem, The Spider, has won awards throughout the U.S. and overseas.
